VALA PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
There was an excellent response to this year’s marketing campaign to Vermont towns highlighting the many services that VALA has to offer. Our total membership now stands at over 300 individuals that represent 111 Vermont towns and 13 Professional Memberships. This is a substantial increase in memberships from 2013. We will be developing a new marketing brochure for VALA that will be sent to all Vermont towns with membership information during the spring of 2015.
COUNTY DELEGATES – YOUR RESOURCE FOR ACTION
On the VALA website www.valavt.org there is a link to the VALA County Delegates. The County Delegates are the VALA members’ resource for input to the Board of Directors. Member’s ideas and suggestions for education, legislation, communication, and member services should be funneled through your County Delegate. This communication link is essential for the continued growth and services provided by your VALA organization. The next Bi-Monthly Board of Directors Meeting is January 7th, 2015 will be held at the Randolph Town Hall. Contact your County Delegate with ideas and suggestions for the January meeting.
END OF THE YEAR DOCUMENTS
PV&R is busy completing their work on the Vermont towns’ equalization studies to determine CLA and COD for 2015. Review the information carefully to better understand the statistical summary information and the individual statistical category information to better evaluate the dynamics of your towns’ Grand List.
PV&R Final 411 Form Request for 2014
Information on your final 411 Form should balance and reflect any changes in value that has occurred since the As Billed Grand List and the 411 Form was provided to your town’s treasurer. You should have documentation for any errors and omissions with Select Board approval for these GL changes to be part of your GL documentation.
Wishing all of you a wonderful holiday and a healthy, happy new year!
